We try to put exact sizing information on each product page, to the extent we can. Please check the product page for this, and if you don’t feel you have enough to go on afterwards, contact us for more details. You can do the same if you’re interested in buying something and don’t see measurements at all; we’ll measure for you if we haven’t already. Keep in mind that we do not accept returns for sizing.
Some general tips on sizing:
* Shirts and pants - often come in different sizes, but the actual size can vary depending on brand. Generally Japanese sizes run smaller than American sizes, but not always. We do provide actual measurements and we try to note anything out of the ordinary (such as an American size shirt from a Japanese brand) in the item description.
"F" or "Free" size is equivalent to "one size fits all", although these garments are often a bit less forgiving than a one-size-fits-all garment would be in America.
* Dresses and skirts - usually come in only one size, more often than not with adjustability via shirring or some other method. We post actual measurements for all of the dresses and skirts that we carry. Keep in mind that the "dress size" you often see in American stores is a wholly American convention - most of the rest of the world use a different sizing system, if they use one at all. The Japanese do have their own sizing system but it is not commonly used by the brands we carry, and would be confusing to our customers anyway (for example, if we labeled a dress a Japanese size "3", that would not provide any meaningful information to most American customers).
For all of these reasons, the Japanese brands have settled on providing actual measurements, for the most accurate representation of a garment's size. You may want to take your own measurements if you haven't already, or the measurements of favorite clothes you already have, for comparison.
