Tea party with Misako Aoki and last store day report!

Last Friday we held our spring tea party with famed Lolita model and ambassador Misako Aoki! It was also the final day for our physical store in New York City, which could have been a sad day but was made a significant and even happy event by Misako's appearance!
The tea party was held at Janam Tea, and many of the attendees had gifts for Misako!

During the party, Misako visited all guests at each table individually to chat and take pictures. If you're wondering about her dress, it's Metamorphose!

After that, a rock-paper-scissors game and coordinate contest were held. Misako acted as judge for Best Coordinate among the attendees. Here she is with the winner, Mary Alice, and her prize!

At the end of the party, of course a group photo was taken!
Special thanks to Amy at Janam Tea for all her help with the party!

After the party, Misako visited our store on its last day to meet with even more of our customers. At the meet & greet, she sold and signed many of her own goods, and took pictures with our customers!

Despite one of the worst storms we've had so far this winter, our store was packed with people turning out both to see Misako and say farewell to our New York location. We couldn't have asked for a better sendoff. (Remember, we will continue selling online!)
We're also thankful to Misako for all of her support over the years. Our original East Village store opened in late 2009, and she helped put us on the map when she visited in February of 2010.

That first visit was a full eight years ago. It seems appropriate that she'd visit us again now, and we're very happy that she did on what could have otherwise been a melancholy day. Thank you Misako!

We hope that everyone enjoyed the event, and even though our physical store is now closed, we hope to host more events like this in the future!

I’m really upset that you had to close the physical store because I would’ve loved to visit it someday. Even though it’s not your fault, I’m still genuinely upset, since I think everything from Tokyo Rebel is so cute.
